Halifax RV Show Opens Today Halifax, NS, January 31, 2008 - Today, Halifax kicked off the RV show season by opening the doors to the Halifax RV Show taking place at Exhibition Park. The Show comes off the heels of a banner RV sales year in an industry experiencing unprecedented growth amongst all segments of the population. “Some people may be surprised to hear that 67% of RV owners are under the age of 55,” said Go RVing Public Affairs Director Catherine Fortin LeFaivre. “The truth is, RVing is an activity that crosses all demographics and socio-economic classes.” The RV industry is now valued at $3 billion and according to Statistics Canada figures, summer RV sales from 2005 to 2007 jumped 55% in Canada. Fortin LeFaivre said that the rise of interest in RVing is due to the fact that Canadians are discovering the benefits, such as flexibility, freedom and affordability, associated with the RV lifestyle. According to RV buying experts, attending RV shows is a great way to find the perfect RV for one’s individual lifestyle, family size and budget. “Talk to an RVer. They will tell you that RVing is the most comfortable—and affordable—way to see they country at your leisure,” said Fortin LeFaivre. The Halifax RV Show runs from Thursday, January 31 to Sunday, February 3rd. The Go RVing coalition was formed in 1997, and consists of RV manufacturers, RV dealers and campground operators. The coalition serves as the Canadian RV camping industry ambassador to provide the public and media with information about the benefits of RV travel. The coalition also seeks to enhance consumer information and satisfaction with the RV experience.
