Strong RV Show Attendance Figures in Major Canadian |
|
(Ottawa, ON) May 7th, 2010 Today, Go RVing Canada announced high attendance figures at local RV shows across the country this past winter, representing another successful RV Show season for the RV industry. From Abbotsford, British Columbia to Halifax, Nova Scotia, thousands of Canadians visited their local RV show to see the incredible selection of RVs available to suit their specific needs, and all the great amenities that come with it. There were hundreds of different RV models with varying price points on display at the shows, as well as many experts on-site that were there to answer questions. Attendance figures for many RV shows increased across the nation. In particular, Toronto saw an impressive 40% increase compared to 2009. Canadians were also purchasing RVs directly from dealers at many shows. Québec and Montréal both saw incredible increases in sales, reporting 36.65% and 56.56% increases respectively. Eastern provinces also delivered strong results, with a 20% attendance increase on the Saturday of one of the largest eastern RV shows in Halifax. “Today’s economic climate may be on the road to recovery, but Canadians are still looking for affordable travel options,” said Go RVing Canada spokesperson Alana Fontaine. “RV vacations represent the most economical way for families to travel. It’s no surprise that hundreds of Canadians headed to their local RV show, in anticipation of planning their summer travels!” Depending on the RV model, a typical family RV vacation can be up to 75 percent less expensive per day than other forms of vacation travel. According to a recent cost-comparison study conducted by PKF Consulting, an RV trip is shown to be more economical when compared to a traditional week's vacation for a family of four, when you consider the costs of flights, car rental, hotels and eating out at restaurants.
