Go RVing Canada Announces Winners of ‘Take Your Best RV Shot’Photo Contest

(Ottawa, ON) September 22nd – Today, Go RVing Canada announced the winners of its 2011 Take Your Best RV Shot photo contest. The online photo contest was launched at the beginning of the summer, encouraging all RV enthusiasts across the country to submit their best RV-related camping photos online for a chance to win one of five amazing prizes.

A blue ribbon panel of expert judges, including veteran journalists and news photographers Joel-Denis Bellavance, Fred Chartrand and Jim Wells, were invited to select the contest winners in each category. The grand prize for best overall photo, a $750 gift card to Henry’s, Canada’s Digital Camera Centre, was awarded to Lancer Fan from Victoria, BC for his incredible photo of a starry night in an RV campground. Four other participants were awarded a $200 President’s Choice gift card. These winners include:

  • Fun-filled discoveries and activities: Evening at night around the fire by Barry Mclean (Surrey, BC)
  • Family portraits: Enjoying our campfire by Mike Lane (Saanichton, BC)
  • Memorable sunsets: Sunset on the Bay of Fundy by Linda Tustin (Pointe Claire, QC)
  • Breathtaking nature: Waterton Lakes National Park by Denise Dempsie (Fenwick, ON)

Go RVing Canada wished to showcase the wonderful amenities of RVing using Canadians’ RV experiences captured through the lens. With the increased success of the Canadian RV industry, RV sales have seen an impressive jump in sales figures across the board, signifying that a record number of Canadian families are discovering the fun and flexible travel that the RV lifestyle provides.

“We are so thrilled with the results of our summer photo contest,” said Go RVing Canada Spokesperson Angèle Lapointe. “We have received several amazing photos and selecting the winners was not an easy task. We would like to thank everyone who has participated, sharing their most memorable RVing photos with us. We hope this will only inspire more people to get out and enjoy the RV lifestyle and Canada’s wide range of spectacular campgrounds.”

An RV vacation remains an incredibly affordable vacation option. Depending on the RV model, a typical family RV vacation can be up to 75% less expensive per day than other forms of vacation travel. According to a cost-comparison study conducted by PKF Consulting, an RV trip is shown to be more economical when compared to a traditional week's vacation for a family of four, when the costs of flights, car rental, hotels and eating out at restaurants are considered.
