Holiday Entertaining Made Easy with T
he Cooking Ladies’ 25 days of RV Recipes

(Ottawa, ON) December 1st, 2011 – Today, Go RVing Canada and The Cooking Ladies launched their collaborative ‘25 Days of Holiday Entertaining RV Recipes’ on Go RVing Canada’s new Facebook Page. Every day, one holiday-themed recipe will be posted for all RV enthusiasts’ enjoyment.

Phyllis Hinz and Lamont Mackay, also known as The Cooking Ladies, are two Canadian RV enthusiasts. They have been active in the RV world for several years and popular among RVers looking for fun and easy recipes to prepare while RVing. They have written nine cookbooks, are regular columnists for local newspapers and RV Lifestyle Magazine for the past 14 years, and were featured on the popular cooking segment on RVTV for two seasons.

“Go RVing Canada is thrilled to be collaborating with The Cooking Ladies on this special holiday project,” said Go RVing Canada spokesperson Angèle Lapointe. “These ladies are very skilled and are loved by RV enthusiasts across Canada. We are so fortunate to have them share their RV cooking tips and travel experiences with others on our Facebook Page.”

Go RVing Canada encourages Canadian RVers to join in on the conversation and share their RV experiences, tips and travel suggestions with others on Facebook. “This is only the beginning of our partnership with The Cooking Ladies,” continued Lapointe. “We encourage all fans of RVing to ‘Like’ us on Facebook to access the latest news on all of our fun and innovative projects.”

Go RVing Canada has recently released RV sales figures for 2011’s third quarter, which demonstrate strong sales and revenue performance in July and August helped bring the total RV retail industry revenues close to 2010 levels. This data reinforces that RVing remains a popular travel option for Canadian families, who are discovering the fun, flexibility and affordability that the RV lifestyle provides.

A cost-comparison study conducted by PKF Consulting demonstrates that, depending on the RV model, a typical family RV vacation can be up to 75% less expensive per day than other forms of vacation travel. An RV trip is shown to be more economical when compared to a traditional week's vacation for a family of four, when the costs of flights, car rental, hotels and eating out at restaurants are considered.

The Go RVing Canada coalition was formed in 1997, and consists of RV manufacturers, RV dealers and campground operators. The coalition serves as the Canadian RV camping industry ambassador to provide the public and media with information about the benefits of RV travel. The coalition also seeks to enhance consumer information and satisfaction with the RV experience.
