RV Owners Maximize Vacation Time versus Average Canadians |
|
New National Survey Findings Released TORONTO, ON – June 22, 2007 – A new national survey on vacation patterns reveals that RV owners are enjoying more vacation time than their average Canadian counterparts. The study released today revealed that RV owners took significantly more vacation in the past year than average Canadians, a total of 6.9 trips for RVers versus 4.1 for non RVers. “As summer heats up, it is interesting for our industry to better understand how consumers are benefiting and using our products. This research really shows that RV owners are enjoying more time on vacation than other Canadians. Our products are improving family time and allowing people to travel,” stated Go RVing Public Affairs Director Catherine Fortin Major The higher number of trips was reflected by a higher number of nights on vacation for RV owners versus all others. Survey respondents where asked details regarding how many separate vacation or leisure trips of one night or more away from home they had taken in the past year. The ownership vacation patterns were studied as part of a nationwide survey conducted by MRP Market Research Inc. The report was based on over 3,000 responses to a major national internet panel conducted nationwide. The survey also revealed that RV owners ranked the freedom to travel, convenience away from home, and experiencing nature with the comforts of home as the most important image factors related to the RV lifestyle. “Obviously, the study shows that the image of freedom and convenience translated into real increased vacation time for RVers," said Fortin Major. “RVs are allowing their owners to get away from it all more than other Canadians.” Details of the survey responses on image and vacation time are available upon request. The Go RVing coalition was formed in 1997, and consists of RV manufacturers, RV dealers and campground operators. The coalition serves as the Canadian RV camping industry ambassador to provide the public and media with information about the benefits of RV travel. The coalition also seeks to enhance consumer information and satisfaction with the RV experience. For more information please visit GoRVing.ca -30- For more information, please contact:
