Where to go RVing?
Off the beaten path – to wilderness parks
Canada’s wilderness and
areas of untamed natural beauty
Canada has vast areas across the country protected by our system of 39 national parks and hundreds of provincial parks with every type of geographical landscape and scenery. They range from the Pacific coast and temperate rain forests, across the Rocky mountain ranges, vast prairies, and the Canadian shield, to the Great Lakes, the St. Lawrence lowlands, and the Atlantic provinces. Wilderness ready for you to explore in your RV.
Canada is a land of sea coasts and lakes
Canada has the longest coast line of any country with sea coasts on three sides. And in between, the map of Canada is literally blue with the thousands of lakes both large and small. So water, and water sports and activities such as fishing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and powerboating are a traditional part of our summers in Canada. So RVers like to spend their summers by the water, too.
When you travel in Canada – bring your boat along
When you travel with an RV it is easy to bring all your equipment along too. You can either strap a small boat or canoe to the RV or tow a much larger boat behind. So when you arrive at that perfect lake or river you can put your boat in the water and explore the shore or plan for a spot to fish as the sun rises the next morning.
Watch for rare birds and wildlife
If you love nature and enjoy the tranquility of Canada’s wilderness parks, make sure you come equipped with binoculars. You can pass many enjoyable hours in some secluded spot watching carefully for the local wildlife hidden among the trees or in the marshland close by. Sit and listen in the perfect quietness to hear a creature stirring in the undergrowth, the flight of a bird or the leap of a great fish.
Experience something new when you are alone with nature
Families and friends learn something new about themselves when they are completely alone and cut off from the rat-race of modern day life. They see things around them that they never noticed before. They learn to appreciate each other and what being part of a family really means. And they come to realize the grandeur and beauty of nature that surrounds them as they marvel at the power of an electric storm or the beauty of a sunset as it sinks below the horizon.
